Is a Glock the worst pistol a new shooter can buy?
Don’t get me wrong they are great guns but the fact that it has more or less a hair trigger, which doubles as a “safety”, and just happens to be the place a new shooter lays fingers on…wouldn’t a more conventional design work better. My brother in law fearful of a gun ban (although hes a flaming liberal and voted for Obama) wants to buy a pistol, and being that he is completely new to guns im trying to talk him out of a Glock…which he wants for no other reason than it’s fashionable and he is sold on the “Glock Perfection” BS. Do you agree or disagree, do you think a couple pictures of some KB’s could scare him into my way of thinking?
It’s nothing personal against Glock but I generally only suggest this firearm to experienced shooters. I think people new to firearms should start out with a gun that has the basics like a manual safety or a revolver. Then once you get more comfortable with firearms more into something like a Glock or XD. I have personally owned a Glock and now I own an XD(M). So again, it’s nothing personal against this type of firearm. Also, if this is his first firearm as mentioned, I would suggest he look into courses or gun clubs that can help educate him on firearm safety. One course that is really good is hunter’s education. Even if you don’t plan to hunt this class is packed full of great firearm safety information.
